YOUTH VS ADULT MODEL - Differences between the adult and youth models are found in the tension of the springs.  The youth model is set up for those riders who are on the lighter side (under 145lbs) while the adult unit is set up for those on the heavier side (over 145lbs)  The lighter tension makes it easy for those under 145lbs to buck the youth unit unassisted while heavy guys will find the same ease on the adult units.  The springs on both models are rated way beyond a bull rider's weight, so there is no need to be concerned with a malfunction.  Both units are used at the Sankey Rodeo School and riders of every age and size use both units.  However, lighter guys tend to stick with the youth model.
